SAE Counterfeit Mitigation standards for the electronics industry : A Talk by Anne Poncheri


Anne Poncheri (aponcheri@gmail.com) of AP Quality Consulting will present on SAE Counterfeit Mitigation standards for the electronics industry at the CALCE SMTA conference (full program) at College Park, Maryland on June 24th.

Abstract:

This presentation will cover a basic description of the SAE standards for counterfeit mitigation. All standards, both new, and in draft will be discussed. The goal of the presentation will be for the audience to:
  • Distinguish the differences between the SAE Standards (AS5553, AS6081, ARP6178, AS6462 and AS6171[in draft])
  • Determine the applicability of the standards within the purchasing process
  • Integrate the appropriate counterfeit mitigation standard into your quality management system
  • Implement the flow-down counterfeit mitigation requirements to suppliers


Bio:

Anne Poncheri is a participating Member of SAE G-19 Counterfeit Electronic Components committee which is chartered to address aspects of preventing, detection, responding to and counteracting the threat of counterfeit electronic components. She is also an active member of several subcommittees responsible for writing test methods for counterfeit detection of electronic components.
